Yaskawa receives Diversity 100 Awards
With globalisation progressing against challenges like aging population and declining birthrates, it is important for companies to maximise their capacities through diverse human resources including gender, nationality, age and physical diversities.
Yaskawa Electric Corporation has been awarded the Diversity 100 Awards by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) on 23 March 2017. Nominees are evaluated through criterions such as workplace flexibility and foreign workforce in its global business.
To emerge as a winner amongst over 120 entries, it is a recognition for Yaskawa’s efforts to invest in a diverse workforce that leads to new innovation and increased productivity. Some efforts of diversity promotion in the company includes holding dialogue meetings with employees to educate them about the significance of diversity and appointing foreign employees for key positions in the regional headquarters in the Americas and Europe.
