Yaskawa’s U1000 leading the way in energy efficient variable speed drive
The Singapore Green Building Product (SGBP) certification scheme recognizes efforts to raise environmental standards of building products and services and to provide benchmarks on environmental performance of products and services. SGBP certification is awarded to companies who champion the change in consumer demand by placing greater emphasis on the environmental impact of their product and its performance.
Yaskawa Electric, the world's largest manufacturer of AC Inverter Drives, Servo and Motion Control, and Robotics Automation Systems, has been awarded leadership position (4 Ticks) according to the evaluation criteria of Singapore Green Building Product Labelling Scheme for its matrix inverter drive – U1000. Matrix technology creates energy savings by power regeneration. Conventional drives utilize regenerative braking resistors to dissipate energy as heat, reducing energy efficiency. The U1000 allows you to return regenerative energy directly back to the power supply, increasing energy efficiency and saving money.
“We are extremely honoured to be carefully evaluated and recognized by a panel of industry experts to be the first variable speed drive in the industry to be awarded this leadership position. This recognition is a further validation of the company’s focus and commitment on energy efficient solutions,” Mr Junichi Nakano, CEO and President, Yaskawa Electric Singapore.
