Versatile and powerful: New Motoman robots for handling and logistics

Robot specialist Yaskawa has launched two new product innovations for handling and logistics on the market. The Motoman MPL800 II distinguishes itself through versatility and power in palletizing and other logistics applications. And with its high payload and large working range the new Motoman MH600 is ideally suitable for handling bulky and heavy work pieces.

MOTOMAN MPL800 II & MH600

Compact, flexible, powerful: thanks to its large range of 3,024 mm vertically and 3,159 mm horizontally, with a payload of up to 800 kg, the four-axis Motoman MPL800 II from Yaskawa’s MPL series is ideal for use in palletizing. Further arguments in its favour are fast acceleration and high speeds of up to 1,200 of the usual palletizing cycles per hour. In addition to box and carton palletizing lines and other logistical applications, automation solutions in dispatch centres are a focus of attention here.

Internal cable routing and wiring ensures a high degree of reliability and low interference contours, and is also highly economical. The MPL800 II palletizing robot is controlled by the DX200 high-performance control – with optional functional safety unit (FSU). The highest level of movement precision and consistency are thus guaranteed. The Motoman MPL800 II is the strongest palletizing robot on the market. In a series ranging from 80 kg to 100, 160, 300 and 500 kg – up to a maximum payload of 800 kg – the MPL800 II rounds off Yaskawa’s programme. Classical applications lie in heavy load handling, for example of stones, whole pallets after palletizing and other heavy parts in the process chain.

Yaskawa’s Motoman MH600 handling robot

The Motoman MH600 is geared to needs in classical handling and general applications. This flexible 6-axis robot features a high payload of up to 600 kg and a large working range of 2,942 mm. It is equipped with a parallel link construction and robust bearings. This ensures strength, stability and rigidity, even with loads with a high torque and moment of inertia, and guarantees uniform rotation of the arm. Due to its high-quality fittings, the robot from the MH series is particularly suitable for handling bulky and heavy workpieces, as well as heavy-duty machining such as grinding or milling. The MH600 features a particularly stiff wrist and a high resisting torque. The Motoman MH600 and MPL800 II are both controlled by the DX200. With the generation change in controls to the DX200 the robot cables have been reduced from three to two – a true savings.
